ABOUT

Hi, I am Manohar Singh Bisht, a  PhD scholar in the MetaBioSys lab under the supervision of Dr. Vineet K. Sharma, Department of Biological Sciences, IISER Bhopal. I completed my Graduation and Masters in Botany from the University of Delhi (DU), India.

Through hard work and dedication, I received the prestigious Prime Minister Research Fellowship (PMRF) in May 2022 (Cycle 9) to pursue my research in biology.

I invite you to take a look at my published work to get a better idea of the fruits of my research labor. Feel free to get in touch with me to say hi or for more information about my work.

MY RESEARCH

Here in the MetaBioSys Lab, I am working in the field of Genomics. We use both second and third-generation sequencing technologies to sequence the complex eukaryotic genomes, and then by employing various computational tools and methods, we do an exhaustive understanding of the genome evolution and the origin of various characteristics present in the genomic landscape.

Recently we sequenced of the National Tree of India; Banyan Tree and Peepal Tree, and Indian-origin cow genomes. Read more about these projects below.
